1. Nocturnal Whisperings
|
Lyrics |
Lyrics:
Pepijn
Music: Roland, Richard and Pepijn
The first song we wrote with the presence of Niels. The main
riff we were playing like over and over, and it sounded like
something was missing. Suddenly Pepijn grabbed his bass and
said something like: "why not play it like this?"
and started playing. Although he had made just one minor adjustment,
the riff was complete. Using that as out base, we created all
sorts of different riffs, that don't stroke with the rest, at
first. Looking at the popularity of this song, we made a pretty
nice composition out of it all.

2. Abstracted
|
|
Lyrics:
Pepijn
Music: Roland and Richard
It
all started with the idea of using a clean riff. Roland had
written this riff a few weeks earlier but never thought Richard
or Pepijn would dare to use it. He was wrong, they immediately
liked it and together they started to write the rest. After
a lot of brainstorming and writting we finished the song.

3. Silhouette
|
Lyrics |
Music:
Roland
I remember rehearsing with the band, and suddenly I had this
chord. It sounded so beautiful, at least to my opinion. I asked
Pepijn to record it, and later on he send it to me by e-mail.
At home I picked up my acoustic guitar and played the chord
over and over agian, made a few variations and wrote other pieces.
I mailed those recordings to Pepijn and he really did like it.
After brushing things up a bit, I let Niels and Richard hear
the song, and I remember Niels beeing very content with it.
Although it has no lyrics, it certainly has a subject, as is
referred to with the title.

4. Vagrant Thoughts
|
|
Lyrics:
Pepijn
Music: Roland and Richard
This song we started writing with Ivo still in the band. First
we had the up-tempo riff but he couldn't get the rhythm, so
we slowed things down, and so the march came to life. We're
all still thankful for that. Except for the break (written by
Richard) the song pretty much wrote itself.
